day by day ...

"Constant effort and frequent mistakes are the stepping stones of genius."
— Elbert Hubbard

Love this quote, the words soothe my mind. The way my life goes, I need to remember them daily.

persist ...

‎"Between you and every goal that you wish to achieve, there is a series of obstacles, and the bigger the goal, the bigger the obstacles. Your decision to be, have and do something out of the ordinary entails facing difficulties and challenges that are out of the ordinary as well. Sometimes your greatest asset is simply your ability to stay with it longer than anyone else." - Brian Tracy

begin it ...

"Then indecision brings its own delays,
And days are lost lamenting o'er lost days.
Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute;
What you can do, or dream you can, begin it;
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."
— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

be kind ...

These words crossed my path today. I needed to hear them, thought I'd share.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." — Plato

"Don't waste yourself in rejection, nor bark against the bad, but chant the beauty of the good." — Ralph Waldo Emerson

a maze of passages ...

"Life is no straight and easy corridor along which we travel free and unhampered, but a maze of passages, through which we must seek our way, lost and confused, now and again checked in a blind alley.

But always, if we have faith, a door will open for us, not perhaps one that we ourselves would ever have thought of, but one that will ultimately prove good for us."

– A.J. Cronin

It's raining now. I am glad (add to that grateful) that it is warm enough to be rain instead of snow or ice, but I'm still very much done with Winter this year. That said, it may not be done with us yet. More snow is forecast over the next few days, then it'll melt away mid week — possibly to return again next week. SIGH.

it's snowing ...

They said that it was possibly going to snow this week. They said the potential for accumulation was going to be the greatest on Wednesday and Thursday. It's Tuesday, we have accumulation. Granted it's an inch, maybe two. Still hoping the day will get warmer and this will all wash away with the rain.

UPDATE: It did not rain at all, only snow. We had the snow, then melt, then snow routine going on (off and on) over the next several days. Blah.

keep going ...

“We may encounter many defeats but we must not be defeated.”
-- Maya Angelou

4:13PM

The fact that there is nothing that I can do about the weather coming our way does not make me feel any better. Regardless of the weather, I still need to be able to get to work. Seriously, I can not afford not to be there.

Usually I'm a bit comforted by the fact that J. has a 4WD truck that can get us most anywhere in inclement weather. This week however said truck is not working (at least not consistently). Which leaves me on my own transportation-wise, and that fact has me more stressed than usual.

Over-reacting, I know. Willing myself to stop it, though some times it seeps through.

I am sure that everything will be fine, and that what ever driving I have to do in the upcoming weather will be a fun, safe adventure. At least that's what I'm telling myself. ; )
