false start

Blossoms begin to show themselves ~ Redmond, WA ~ 02.13.06

Blue-skies, sunshine and Spring-like temperatures have begun to fool nature, and us, into thinking it's safe to emerge from our safe protective cocoons. Hope the plants survive. The low tonight is supposed to be 21 degrees fahrenheit. A trend that's predicted to continue throughout at least the next week. Brrrrr.

Now this is interesting. I just picked up a big chunk of black foam board that I'm going to carve a couple of small pieces off of, specifically for this kind of thing. Drop that behind a flower or some such and you've got a magical black BG behind a subject in strong natural light. I can't wait to try it out! ...As soon as there are A) flowers and B) strong natural light in Toronto again... :D

I actually pride myself on trying to find a way to make the situation work as is. Meaning trying to move around and figure out the least distracting background.

That's just my thing though. On a daily basis, flying by the seat of my pants is a requirement.

Having said that, I think it might be fun (on occasion) to have the foam board on hand for an instant clean background.
