words

People that you meet on the street;
Sometimes seem to keep up with your heartbeat.
Then silence, not a peep.
Makes you wonder, is there really any easy speak?

In today's fragmented world ridden with distractions, it's too easy to get lost. Years fly by faster and faster, while quality moments seem to grow more scarce.

I sometimes go years without speaking to my German friend. He and I are both immersed in the depravity of every day stuff. He is focused on career way more than I am, but many other aspects of our life are symmetrical.

When we finally do speak, it's uncanny how we are often wrestling with the same issues, weighing the same decisions, and struggling through the same mire.

These connections help forge bonds of friendship that can withstand the long periods of silence. Although I know I have his eternal love, I ever hunger for more of his time.

I have similar friendships, similar to the one you mentioned. Though I sometimes find myself wondering about those potential friendships that never really take off. The ones we mean to foster, but somehow slip away.
