stellar show

David Sanborn & Company @ Jazz Alley -- Seattle, WA -- 091805

Went out to Dimitriou's Jazz Alley last night to catch the David Sanborn show. Which was great! The show rocked! Or jazzed? Anyway, a good time was had. However, the point & shoot camera I own coupled with the low lighting in the house made for less than stellar images, but this one gives you an idea of the flavor of the evening.

Hey, you like jazz? That's cool... I blogged about going down the Distillery District and listening to a few Dixieland bands over lottttttts of beer earlier this summer. I confess, though, I've got a real soft spot for vibraphone jazz. :) I don't know much of it, but the stuff I do know is just like candy in the mind.

Yep, I do. And other kinds of music too. ; )

It was fun to see David Sanborn live. His music was one of my first introductions to jazz. They played a song last night from the first album I ever had of his (Maputo from Double Vision, 1986), that was a bit of a treat for me.

Hi, Kat... I noticed you got into some stuff about your career in reply to a posting on my blog. It was funny how parallel some of what you said was to my own experience. Since it's about a lot of personal information, I was wondering if you'd care to take this particular discussion out of the public eye. I have an e-mail address I can check by browser you're welcome to use. Only picked it upon a lark about two months ago and I've scarcedly had call to use it, but this seems appropriate. So the e-mail bots won't eat it, I'll describe it to you. It's barefoot hiker -- but all one word, no spaces or underscores -- and it's a hotmail address. I'll leave it up to you if you care to drop me a line at it. :)

Yep, there should be a brief email waiting for you from earlier this morning. I'm at the library editing photos between assignments, so I should go.
