sun down

I overheard a couple of people chatting this afternoon saying that (according to our local meterologists) today may be the last nice weather we'll have for a while. So this is to remind me of it's beauty.

The sunset over the Olympics from the Seattle side of Puget Sound.

Look at that... as many colours as the Peacock Fertility Dance. :)

My geography's a little shaky at the moment... is that looking across that huge bay that Vancouver Island sort of tucks into further north -- towards that peninsula on the far western side?

It's looking directly West from Seattle toward Olympic National Park. I wouldn't call it a huge bay down where we are, but it does connect to the Pacific. And all points North to B.C. are along the same water. So, I'm not sure it's exactly where you're thinking, but it's all connected (by saltwater).
